“Embrace the Digital Future”: Hon. Sam George Urges Asawase Students to Leverage Community Information Centre

The Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Hon. Samuel Nartey George, has delivered a powerful message of encouragement to the youth of Asawase, urging them to prioritize their academic pursuits and actively embrace digital literacy.

During a recent engagement with students of the Asawase Cluster of Schools, the Minister highlighted the rapidly changing global landscape and stressed that the future belongs to those who are digitally equipped. He challenged the students to remain laser-focused on their education, noting that a strong academic foundation is the ultimate key to unlocking future opportunities.

A central theme of the Minister’s address was the utilization of local technological resources. Hon. Sam George directed the students’ attention to the Asawase Community Information Centre (CIC), describing it as a vital asset for the community’s youth.

He passionately appealed to the students to look beyond just the theory taught in classrooms and use the CIC as a practical ICT learning hub.

“The digital world is not waiting for anyone,” the Minister noted. “The Asawase Community Information Centre has been put in place precisely for you. It is your laboratory, your library, and your gateway to the global digital economy. I urge you to spend your free time there, get your hands on the computers, learn to code, understand basic software, and build the digital skills that will set you apart.”

The Minister’s visit underscores the government’s broader agenda to bridge the digital divide in Ghanaian communities. By transforming Community Information Centres into active, practical learning environments, the Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations hopes to nurture a new generation of tech-savvy Ghanaians ready to compete on the world stage.

Teachers and community leaders present at the event echoed the Minister’s sentiments, promising to integrate more practical sessions at the CIC into the students’ extracurricular activities.

For the students of the Asawase Cluster of Schools, the message was clear: the tools for success are right in their backyard, and the time to start building their digital future is now.
